There’s been a church here since the beginning of the 17th century and although there are a lot of fine churches around Tenerife, this one has the added bonus of a mature drago tree to add to its appealling good looks, something that should act as a clue to help identification…but only if you’ve been here.

This baroque building is located deep in farming country where potatoes and tomatoes are the main crops…but where on Tenerife is it?

The first is of a small coastal village on Tenerife that is home to about 300 inhabitants. Its numbers are boosted significantly in summer months as people from hillside areas with holiday apartments in the village descend on the place.

This photo wasn’t taken in summer which is why the neat, cobbled sunbathing decks are empty of people…even though the temperature would have had British visitors stripping off deliriously.

It’s small bay provides natural shelter for a small fleet of fishing boats and it’s claimed that the town is named after a crab that is common to the area…but where on Tenerife is it?

But we’re not going to be sneaky and publish a photo of some obscure and remote cove that you have to walk for half a day to find.

This long black sand beach below the cliffs is popular enough with sunbathers to warrant a restaurant so you might think that would make it mainstream enough to be easy to identify…we’re not so sure.

Access to this beach is quite unique…but where on Tenerife is it?

There isn’t a great amount to go on in this photo, just a section of hillside in the background and the huts themselves. But the huts are the big clue. Although once common-place in farming areas, there are only a few areas left on Tenerife where they can still be spotted; usually standing alone by the roadside, half hidden in the undergrowth.

This is the only place where you’ll find a small neat ‘village’ of them all in the one location. Thousands of people flock to this spot each year…but where on Tenerife is it?

A photo of a bench would normally seem an odd choice and difficult to place. However, maybe not when the bench in question looks as ornate as this one – not quite the same anonymity as those that line the promenades of Tenerife’s coastal towns.

As benches go this is a particularly attractive specimen and the wonderful old tobacco advert adds to its good looks…but where on Tenerife is it?

This month we’re after the exact name of this place as well as where it’s located. This spot has two names, a common one and an official one. Either will do, but award yourself a bonus point if you know both.

There’s also a reason why we’ve chosen this image as the photo challenge for July, so an extra special kudos point to anyone who knows what that reason is.

For June’s challenge we’ve chosen a photograph of a little town that isn’t nearly as remote, but which could still prove to be quite tricky to identify.

There is one huge clue that should point people to the general area, but after that it might take a bit of detective work…except for those who have stood in the same spot and soaked up this unique scenery.

There’s one very good reason why we believe this but we’re not telling yet as it could be too much of a clue.

This little beach and harbour lis located in a lovely, hidden little spot on Tenerife that you could say is off the beaten track…and then some. But where on Tenerife is it?

Anyone who has seen this whale in the flesh (I know it’s a skeleton but you know what I mean) should know exactly where this is.

The big guy pays homage to the relationship between man and the sea and over the last couple of years has been the site of a rather groovy fiesta…but where on Tenerife is it?

Here we have clear blue skies and seas mixing with dramatic coastal scenery and in the middle of it all lies a wonderful infinity pool built into the rocks.

It’s an inviting and idyllic spot for lazily floating on your back on a hot and sunny Tenerife day and it’s one of a kind…but where on Tenerife is it?

Our second Tenerife photo challenge, whilst it could still be tricky, isn’t nearly as obscure. But it still might just be an area of Tenerife where many people have never set foot.
