Didnt know about this carnival in Los Cris. I will have to check it out, the sardine burial sounds interesting. Does it get a big following I wonder, we will see!

The sardine burial is a hoot! I’ve never seen so many men – young and older – dressed up in womens’ attire. They represent widows of the sardine, and the procession of the widows in their widows’ weeds, take the sardine effigy down onto the beach and set fire to it. This is all followed by music and dancing into the early hours. Enjoy!
