Where on Tenerife is this? Photo Challenge #7

Last month’s photo challenge did turn out to be as tricky as we thought it might, but will this month’s challenge featuring this voluptuous bathing beauty have you nodding your head in recognition…or throwing in the towel in defeat?

Thanks to photographer Nikki Attree for supplying this surreal shot of one of Tenerife’s stranger residents.  The surrounding landscape doesn’t give much away regarding her location, but if anyone’s ever spotted this lady it’s unlikely that they’d forget their meeting. Don’t you think  somebody should advise her against using different sun cream factors on her body and face?

She’s eyecatching for sure, but where on Tenerife is she?

Where on Tenerife is This? Photo Challenge #5

The last photo challenge was clearly far too easy, so this one might be a little more testing.

This Guanche warrior obviously isn’t too happy with the gods. He stands shaking his fists at the sky beside a road that links a number of hill towns. He’s a larger than life character and an impressive fellow in many ways (in the interests of decency we thought it was better to go with a rear view).

Although on a relatively quiet road, many people are attracted to this spot by some absolutely WOW views…but where on Tenerife is it?

Award yourself a bonus pat on the back if you know who he is and what he’s doing.

Tenerife Photo Challenge #3 – Where in Tenerife is This?

Our last photo challenge might have been a wee bit too obscure, so for this one we’ve decided to head back to the coast to this quaint little fishing community.

In the current searingly hot temperatures, the calm aquamarine harbour of this little village looks like the ideal spot for a cooling swim…but where on Tenerife is it?

Tenerife Photo Challenge #2 – Where in Tenerife is this?

The second location for our Tenerife photo challenge is home to this bizarre looking fellow. He’s an odd looking creature for sure and with arms that look as though they belong to Big Bird and goat’s horns protruding from his head, he’s not someone you’d want to bump into on a dark night…or even a light one for that matter.

Just check out that leery grin and those outstretched arms which tell you that he is actually chasing someone.

Once you’ve seen this guy you aren’t likely to forget him and he is visible from the main road. But where on Tenerife is he?

Here’s a clue: He’s the main character in a much loved old tradition in this town.

Photo Challenge Update: Nobody recognised this fellow or where he lived, so I’ve added the answer to comments: – It’s El Palmar in Buenavista del Norte and he’s the devil in the traditional Baile de Libreas. Here’s some great YouTube footage of him in action – H&S officers look away now.

Tenerife Photo Challenge #1 – Where in Tenerife is this?

Launching Tenerife Magazine’s new photo challenge feature ‘Where in Tenerife is this?’ is this shot of a little cluster of cottages perched precariously on a rock jutting out into the sea. It’s not a place I’d have fancied staying during the stormy weather in February this year.

It’s quite a unique location, but where is it?

Here’s a clue: They specialise in plates of camerones (little unpeeled shrimps) in this place.
